Amending Your DIN (Director Identification Number)

Prescribed Form : To amend your DIN, you can access the DIR-6 form on the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) website. This is an electronic form that needs to be filled completely and the necessary supporting attachments must be added. Once completed, the form can be uploaded on the MCA portal and digitally signed.

Stepwise Process

Step 1 : Download and Fill the Form : Visit the MCA website and download Form DIR-6. Fill in the required details you wish to amend and attach scanned copies of valid supporting documents for each amendment, such as an updated PAN card or proof of address.

Step 2 : Sign the completed form electronically using a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC). If you don’t have a DSC, you can obtain one from an authorised service provider.

Step 3 : File the Form : After signing and making the payment, you must submit Form DIR-6 which has been duly filled and signed, electronically on the MCA portal. You must also pay the prescribed fee online.

Step 4 : Processing and Verification : Your application to the MCA will be processed, and the submitted documents will be verified. This process may take a few days. Once the verification is successful, the MCA will update your DIN profile with the corrected details. You will then receive an email notification confirming the changes.
